The Cigar Box Guitar (CBG) is essentially the ABG (Armagnac Box Guitar) for smokers.
The genuinely Cuban "Partagás Habana" box is another one of Herbert’s father-in-law heirloom.

The instrument features a glued wood neck, the nut and bridge being made of screws produced und first used probably in the past millennium.
It is equipped with a humbucker type pickup.
The tuning is the classic open G (GDG).

Fortunately, we ourselves have quit smoking a time ago, and are no longer addicted to cigars. But the scent from the box is still good to smell and could well lead to a relapse. So there's only one thing left to do: Get out the bottleneck, lift the CBG onto your lap and squeeze the sound out of the box - oh yeah!!

☛ As you can guess by now, we don't get any benefits from Cuba either, nor does the Cuban tobacco industry supply us with their goods - not even with empty boxes - how sad!
