Mahalo Kokua Ukulele

Mahalo Kokua Ukulele

After the experience of building the resonator guitar, Herbert also decided to continue building musical instruments. His wife wanted to support him. To avoid having to start from scratch, she gifted him a kit from StewMac.com (if you think they're sponsoring us, they're not).

Not only did we learn a lot during the building process, but we also did some things a little differently, and this instrument turned out incredibly well (most likely not because we changed something).

Considering its small size, the volume is outstanding and the sound is amazingly full and, well, just good. So this little lady became an almost constant companion, on trips and to Alex's guitar playing, recently replaced at most perhaps by her slightly larger but younger sister "The Wannabe Tenor Ukulele".

We don't know Hawaiian, but we try to thank the beloved donor and the makers of the kit by naming the little one:
"Mahalo Kokua"
-which hopefully stands for "Thanks for help".
